Traditional evaluation. Our least precise method.

Assisted Evaluation

$125

Artificial Insemination

Insemination.jpg

Artificial Insemination requires semen to be collected from a stallion, processed and evaluated, then inserted into a mare using specialized tools. This method of conception allows for a greater degree of safety and control. Alternatively, a mare may get pregnant through natural conception, referred to as 'live cover. Live cover may not always result in a successful paring of stallion and mare.

Frozen Collection

$135

Insemination

$90

Per 0.5 ml straw. We recommend 7 straws per insemination attempt. This semen has been previously collected and frozen for long term storage. While this does allow access to past stallions, it comes with a lower success rate. Total cost of the recommended dose is $945. Fewer straws may be used with reduced chance of success.

Fresh Collection

$495

Per sample. Semen is collected, processed, then immediately placed into the mare. Fee is charged each time a collection is required.

Semen is placed inside the mare at the optimal time in her heat cycle. Fee is charged for each insemination.

Live Cover

Insemination.jpg

Per session. Boarding required and charged separately based on how long your mare stays with us. Your mare will be placed in a paddock with our stallion where natural conception may occur. Time spent together is determined by behavior of both horses. We leave the horses together as long as possible and do our best to physically observe successful copulation.

$355

Pregnancy Confirmation

Insemination.jpg

Confirming a successful conception is necessary to determine the next steps in the mares pregnancy journey. Knowing as soon as possible ensures there is enough time to try again on the mare's next heat cycle if conception did not occur.

Follow-up Confirmation

$65

If initial results were inconclusive, a follow up evaluation can be performed a few days later.

14-day Confirmation

$125

Its standard practice to use assisted evaluation to determine the results of artificial insemination 14 days after the insemination was performed.

Vet Evaluation

cost+10%

A vet examines your mare to confirm pregnancy.

Remote Insemination

Fresh or frozen semen can be sent to your location. These fees are charged for each package that is sent.

48 Hour Rush Fee

$165

We encourage mare owners to collaborate closely with their veterinarians to confidently observe, record and predict the ovulation stage of their mare's heat cycle. This information helps Maximum Equestrian plan out semen collection and shipping and can accomplished with enough information. If, for any reason, semen is required with less than 48 hours notice, we will charge a rush fee to accommodate the unplanned semen collection. Please ask us if you have any questions about predicting when your mare will require semen.

Semen Packaging

$35+

Semen packaging varies based on method of transportation and your own preferences. For fresh cooled semen, a disposable insulated, chemically cooled mailer is charged at $35. Packaging for international transportation or frozen semen comes with a higher price tag and can vary widely. We will be happy to provide you with a quote based on your specific needs.

Semen Shipping

$80 - $450+

Price varies based on your preferences, product quantity, shipping method, shipping distance and any other carrier fees. We prefer to establish all shipping methods early in the process so that there are no surprise fees when it is time to deliver the semen.
